Shandong has 11 bases of national training program 2.0 for top students in basic disciplines

　　Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the list of the third batch of bases of the national training program 2.0 for top students in basic disciplines. Four disciplines from two universities in Shandong province were selected, including computer science, philosophy and history from Shandong University and biological science from Ocean University of China. In addition to the previous ones, there are 11 bases of the national training program 2.0 for top students in basic disciplines in Shandong.

　　The list of the third batch of bases was determined on the basis of the 199 bases selected for the first two batches. Six disciplines, including mathematics, Chinese language and literature, physics, chemistry, biological science and economics from Shandong University, and marine science from the Ocean University of China, were selected in the first two batches. The training program 2.0 for top students in basic disciplines has been carried out since 2019, aiming to build a first-class training base for top-notch students in basic disciplines, cultivate outstanding natural scientists, social scientists and medical scientists for the future, and lay a talent foundation for building China into a major scientific center and innovation highland in the world.
