BANGKOK, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Thai military junta leader Prayuth Chan-ocha on Friday night said the drafting of an interim constitution had been completed.
The draft is expected to be promulgated in July, Prayuth said in his weekly televised address.
A legislative assembly and an interim government will be set up about a month after the interim constitution is enacted, he said.
A reform council is set to take shape about two months after the interim charter takes effect and start working from early October, according to the chief of the National Council for Peace and Order.
The reform council will be tasked with implementing reforms in all areas including politics, economy, society, environment, energy and the judicial system, Prayuth said.
A permanent constitution could be promulgated in July 2015, after which an interim government will spend three months organizing elections, he said.
