Provincial capital, political and economic center:

1. Jinan Prior Zone for Replacing Old Growth Drivers with New Ones

Located in the north of Jinan, Jinan Prior Zone has a total planning area of 1030 square kilometers. The development orientation is  “industry, city and river”, which forms an organic whole for development and creates a “four new” industrial ecology, namely, new intelligent manufacturing, new science and technology, new service and new consumption.

Major projects such as the High-end Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park, Shandong Science Town and International Convention and Exhibition Center are under construction.

2. Jinan International Center for Medical Sciences

Located in the west of Jinan, Jinan International Center for Medical Sciences has a total planning area of about 45 square kilometers and a core area of 10 square kilometers. The development orientation is to build a large health industry ecological map of medical treatment, and build a comprehensive medical service center integrating the medical treatment, teaching and scientific research, prevention and health care, health tourism, rehabilitation and medical care

3. Jinan International Financial Town

Located in the eastern core area of Jinan, the total investment of Jinan International Financial Town is planned to be RMB 20 billion, covering a total area of 263 square kilometers, with a building area of about 20 million square meters. The project layout is “a line, two cores”, that is to say, taking Jingshi Road as the transportation line and expanding, to build the two cores of industrial finance cluster and science and technology finance cluster respectively. The industrial finance cluster has an investment of about RMB 10 billion, which covers an area of 3.2 square kilometers and has a total building area of about 10 million square meters. Yunding Tower, the highest building in Jinan, has a building height of 339 meters and a total building area of 2.54 million square meters. Industrial finance

In 2018, the City’s financial industry increased by RMB 87.32 billion and the tax revenue in financial industry was RMB 158.8 billion; the balance of Renminbi and foreign currency deposits of financial institutions was RMB 1809.38 billion. The balance of Renminbi and foreign currency loans of financial institutions was RMB 168.52 billion, and the premium income was RMB 44.61 billion, ranking first in Shandong Province. Advanced material

Jinan has advantages in the research and development and industrialization of new materials, such as high-performance semiconductor crystal materials, fluorine materials, colloidal materials, photoelectric materials, etc., represented by silicon carbide and lithium borate.
