International Students Experience Traditional Dragon Boat Festival Culture

　　To enhance international students' understanding and appreciation of traditional Chinese culture, Zhangdian District's Keyuan Subdistrict recently organized the "Experience Zibo" cultural immersion event at Lijingyuan Community. Through hands-on folk culture activities, international students had the opportunity to discover the unique charm of China's traditional heritage while experiencing the distinctive local customs of Zibo.

　　The event was filled with a vibrant atmosphere as international students enthusiastically participated in various cultural experiences: crafting distinctive mugwort bouquets while learning about the plant's symbolic meaning of warding off evil and inviting blessings in Chinese tradition; carefully folding bamboo leaves, filling them with glutinous rice, and tying them with colorful strings under volunteers' guidance - each uniquely-shaped zongzi representing their exploration of traditional culinary culture; listening to Hanfu enthusiasts vividly explain the evolution of this traditional attire, then trying on the exquisite garments with volunteers' assistance to appreciate the distinctive charm of Chinese dress, capturing these precious moments in memorable photographs.

　　Under the guidance of their "auntie instructors," the international students learned to wrap fragrant bamboo leaves around sweet dates, peanuts, and glutinous rice, carefully folding the leaves before securing them with colorful threads... The process—from complete beginners to managing to create presentable zongzi—was full of joyful discovery."This activity helped me understand Chinese traditional festivals," said Tang Rui from Morocco. "I really enjoyed making zongzi—it's so much fun!" When the cooked zongzi were served, Ali from Yemen exclaimed: "The ones I made myself taste especially delicious!"

　　Volunteers guided the international students in crafting sachets, skillfully combining colorful threads and decorative pendants to create beautiful, intricate pieces. Moroccan student Manna, proudly wearing her handmade sachet and rainbow-hued bracelet, exclaimed:"I've always adored Chinese culture. Learning and sharing this experience with everyone today has brought me immense joy!"

　　This uniquely regional cultural extravaganza allowed international students to fully appreciate the charm of Eastern traditions! The students expressed that through this event, they not only experienced the profound cultural significance of the Dragon Boat Festival and its vibrant festive atmosphere, but also felt the genuine warmth of Zibo's community.
