The origin of Dianzi Village’s name dates back to the early years of the Ming Dynasty: back then, a family surnamed Yang ran a shop here, and the village thus got its name, which has been retained to this day.
Beneath the seemingly ordinary exterior of this village lies a historical site that carries traces of ancient civilization — the Dianzi Ruins. According to archaeological research, this is a settlement relic from the Dawenkou Culture period, holding inestimable value for archaeological studies.
Fifteen hundred meters south of the village stands the Dianzi Sluice quietly. A north-south stone bridge spans the east side of the sluice, measuring 5.1 meters in length and 4.6 meters in width, covering a total area of approximately 35 square meters. The concrete piers of the sluice adopt a "two-opening, three-pier" structure; each pier is built with three neat brick stacks, and the sluice body is carved with numerous characters and patterns. With delicate lines and exquisite craftsmanship, these carvings fully demonstrate the ingenuity of water conservancy construction in the old days.
Though Dianzi Village may seem ordinary, it hides endless charm within: the Dawenkou Culture Ruins silently tell the glory of prehistoric civilization, while the Dianzi Sluice and the stone bridge quietly witness the changes of time. Such a village full of stories deserves our deep remembrance, and more importantly, it is worth joining hands to safeguard this precious cultural treasure.
