Taichen Village

　　Taichen Village is located 2.7 kilometers north of Gaoqing County Seat. The origin of the village's name is tied to the large earthen platform standing in front of the village—so closely that the name "Taichen Village" is deeply linked to this platform.

　　Hidden within the village is a cluster of tombs dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. The tomb chambers feature brick-arched structures, and the shape of their domed roofs still faintly reveals the grand specifications of that era. However, eroded by the passage of time, the former magnificence has long faded away. Today, only clumps of wild grass sway in the wind, silently telling the loneliness left behind after the ancients passed away in the stillness.

　　There is also a mysterious legend surrounding the earthen platform in front of the village: it is said that a fox spirit once resided inside the platform, and the soil of the platform must never be disturbed. A villager once disregarded this taboo and insisted on taking soil from the platform to build a house. Unfortunately, soon after the new house was completed, it suddenly caught fire at night for no apparent reason and eventually turned to ashes.

　　Today, Taichen Village moves gently along the river of time, carrying both the historical traces of the Ming and Qing tombs and the folk legend of the fox spirit on the earthen platform. This land, which has witnessed the past, will continue to bear the villagers' aspirations for a better life and quietly unfold its own chapter of happiness in the days ahead.
