Foreign officials praise Chinese gardening culture for promoting harmony

  Senior foreign officials lauded Chinese philosophy for fostering harmony and peacefulness through its gardening culture and planting technologies during their visit to the Museum of Chinese Gardening and Landscapes Architecture in Beijing on Friday.

  Gregory Riviere, the international secretary of Dominica Labor Party, who joined the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting, told China Daily after visiting the museum in Fengtai district, "The museum exhibits the history (of Chinese gardening and landscapes architecture), and helps us recognize the importance of gardens in Chinese civilization.... it shows China's keen attention to the environment even in those early civilizations."

  He said he was impressed with "the sense of the peacefulness" valued by the Chinese people and he believed "China will continue to be the leader of global peace and civilization."

  The official also expressed his country's gratitude to China for its sincere contribution in helping Dominica recover from the devastating hurricane in 2017.

  Sharing common sentiments, Augusto Antonio Robinson Gonzalez, secretary of international relations, the Democratic Revolutionary Party, Panama, indicated that the museum showcases the gardening culture and Chinese philosophy to boost co-existence between people and nature.

  "We have to take care of the existence of everything, and mankind should take more awareness of what's happening on climate change. And this (museum) is to show how to do it," he said, who also plans to convey the Chinese outlook to his home country after the visit.

  Following the visit, the officials continue their visit to a local fashion company Eve Group and group showcases their blending of Western style with traditional Chinese cultures and its efforts to help local farmers improve their income.
