　　Ordinary wheat straws are upcycled to amazing works. This gorgeous change is realized by Liu Chengfeng, the inheritor of Dezhou municipal intangible cultural heritage. With ingenuity, he has concentrated on the studies for 30 years, and gotten rid of the stale and brought forth the fresh, forming unique straw patchwork, and successfully creating a new card for the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage.

　　一根根普通的麦秆，变废为宝成为一幅幅令人惊艳的作品，这华丽的变身，出自市级非遗传承人刘成峰的巧手。他秉执一颗匠心，潜心钻研30年，将老手艺推陈出新，形成了别具一格的麦秸画，成功打造了非遗传承新名片。

　　"The straw patchwork is one of the unique handicrafts in China, which belongs to a kind of folk clip art. It rose in the Sui and Tang Dynasties, and was popular in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with a history of more than 1400 years." Liu Chengfeng said that his dream was to "turn straws into gold with his skills", and to carry forward this intangible cultural heritage.

　　“麦秸画是我国独有的特色工艺品之一，属于民间剪贴画的一种，兴于隋唐，流行于明清，有1400多年的历史。”刘成峰说，自己的梦想就是“点草成金”，把这一非遗文化发扬光大。

　　Liu Chengfeng aged 51 is a native of Xiaojia Village, Mengsi Town, Linyi County. In 1992, he began to learn things about the straw patchwork after graduation from vocational secondary school in Linyi County. At that time, he saw a straw patchwork made by a Hebei female teacher on the newspaper, on which the exquisite pictures and wonderful skills made Liu Chengfeng, who loved art since he was young, very excited. Plus that Linyi is the main wheat producing area, with rich raw materials and convenient access, he decided to have a try.

　　今年51岁的刘成峰是临邑县孟寺镇肖家村人，1992年从临邑县职业中专毕业后开始接触麦秸画。当时他从报纸上看到一位河北女教师制作的麦秸画，精美的画面、奇妙的技艺，让自幼酷爱美术的刘成峰怦然心动。再加上本地是小麦主产区，原料丰富、取材便利，他便尝试着制作。

　　In order to restore the production process of straw patchwork to the greatest extent, he purchased an electric soldering iron, bleaching and dyeing and other professional tools for making the straw patchwork, and concentrated on studies. By going to other places for learning, looking up information on the Internet and repeated experiments and practices, he quickly mastered the production process of the straw patchwork. He was meticulous in nearly 20 processes, including selection, smoking, steaming, bleaching, scraping, ironing, depicting, drawing, weaving, cutting, carving, etc.

　　为最大程度还原麦秸画制作工艺，他购买了制作麦秸画的电烙铁及漂白、染色等专业工具，潜心研究，通过去外地取经、上网查阅资料、反复实验练习，很快掌握了麦秸画的制作工艺，选、熏、蒸、漂、刮、烙、描、绘、编、剪、刻……近20道工序一丝不苟。

　　To make high-quality works, straight wheat straws with high maturity and bright color are required. In order to ensure the quality of raw materials, Liu Chengfeng personally lead people to harvest wheat every year. "I am often too tired to get up, and my hands tremble, so I have to rest for days before I recover." He introduced that the selected wheat straws would be soaked, bleached, fumigated. After becoming glossy, they would be planed and ironed, and repeatedly scraped with a knife to stick to the kraft paper. Only then, the base was finished. Following that, the theme would be facsimiled or drawn, transcribed to the base and cut off. Each component would be cut and ironed separately, and pasted into a whole after completion.

　　要制作高质量作品，必须挑选熟度较高、色泽鲜亮、直挺的麦秆。为了保证原材料品质，刘成峰每年亲自带人收割小麦。“经常累得爬不起来，手打颤，得歇十天半月才能缓过来。” 他介绍，选出的麦秆经过浸泡、漂白、熏蒸，等颜色发亮有光泽后刨开用熨斗烫平，经小刀反复刮拭粘到牛皮纸上，坯板才算完成。接着临摹或绘制主题，誊到坯板上并剪下来，各个组件分别剪裁、烫烙，完成后粘贴成一体。

　　"The whole process is tedious and complicated. Therefore, the producer should be very patient. I like this, so I enjoy the whole process." Liu Chengfeng stays in the studio every day, often sitting for hours before the table. Everything comes to him who waits. He is more proficient in skills, and his works are gradually recognized by everyone.

　　“整个过程繁琐、复杂，制作者要非常有耐心，但因为喜欢，这一切对于我来说却是种享受。”刘成峰天天泡在工作室，经常在案前一坐就是几个小时。功夫不负有心人，他的技艺越来越熟练，作品逐渐得到大家的认可。

　　"In the past two years, the straw patchwork has become the art card of Linyi County." Liu Chengfeng said that many local units and enterprises have customized gifts one after another. Some merchants from Hunan, Yunnan and other places have been attracted to here, and art lovers around have also come to appreciate and buy them. My works range in price from several hundred yuan to several thousand yuan, and some even exceed 10,000 yuan.

　　“这两年，麦秸画已成为临邑县的艺术名片。”刘成峰说，当地很多单位、企业纷纷定制伴手礼，湖南、云南等地一些商家慕名而来，周边的美术爱好者也前来鉴赏和购买，价格从几百元到几千元不等，有的甚至超万元。
