Recently, eight Thai students from the Intelligent Manufacturing Department of Laiwu Vocational and Technical College experienced paper-cutting in the cultural exchange experience class, feeling colorful Chinese culture. Ms. Wang Yufang, the intangible culture heritage inheritor of Laiwu in Jinan, patiently instructed everyone how to hold the knife and cut, and explained the meaning of each pattern.

In the process of the activity, the international students tried their hands after learning seriously. Students also communicated with each other and shared their achievements. They discussed how to improve their paper-cutting skills and how to integrate this skill with their own culture.

“This is my first time to participate in the paper-cutting culture experience. I feel particularly good and this experience makes me personally feel the broad and profound Chinese culture. I hope to learn more about Chinese culture, and in the future I can tell the story of China’s intangible cultural heritage well in my own mother tongue so that the world can perceive the profound heritage and modern charm of China’s excellent traditional culture.” The student Neo said.

This experience not only allows the students to get close to the traditional Chinese paper-cutting culture, but also builds a platform for promoting cultural exchanges between different countries.(稿件信息来源:莱芜职业技术学院智能制造系)
