Recently, the Bulgarian Peony Garden construction project was officially signed in Heze, marking the imminent blooming of Heze peonies in the "Land of Roses".

The Propaganda Department of the Heze Municipal Party Committee and the Propaganda Department of the Mudan District Party Committee organized a symposium with Bulgarian agricultural experts to discuss the construction of a peony garden and peony planting in Sofia South Park, as well as the development center of the Mudan industry in the area, the leaders of Huangqian Town Government, and peony planting experts.

At the symposium, Nadezhda Zapyanova, the director of the Bulgarian Institute of Ornamental and Medicinal Plants, and her delegation raised questions about technical issues such as water content, sunlight, and cutting in peony cultivation. Our region's peony planting experts answered each question and provided a detailed introduction to the development of peonies in the peony area.

It is understood that the history of peonies in Mudan District is long. Cultivation began in the Sui Dynasty and flourished in the Tang and Song Dynasties. By the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it had become the center of peony cultivation in China, with a history of more than 1500 years; The variety of peonies is flourishing, with 9 major color series, 10 major flower types, and 1308 varieties for ornamental peonies. The total number of cultivated new varieties accounts for 80% of China's total; Peony has a wide influence, with a support rate of over 85% for peony planting seedlings nationwide, and the export rate of seedlings accounts for 90% of the country's total; Peony culture is rich, possessing three major characteristics: grace, heroism, and folk charm.

"The peonies in Heze are amazing, and it is very appropriate to spread culture through the 'beautiful language' of peonies. We hope that we can further deepen cooperation and exchange," said Katerina Kanevcheva, Chief Expert of the Sofia City Greening Bureau in Bulgaria.

Subsequently, Bulgarian experts visited the Caozhou Peony Garden, Hundred Flowers Garden and other places on site, further deepening Bulgarian experts' understanding of peonies, strengthening cultural exchanges between the two countries, and enhancing friendship.
