Unfolding the scroll and lifting the brush, Zhao Zhuhua completed a piece of calligraphy and painting themed on “Yellow River Flowing into the Sea”several minutes later, which is composed on mountains, waters, flowers, birds and other patterns. Zhao Zhuhua, Inheritor of Yellow River Estuary Loong, Phoenix, Flower and Bird Themed Calligraphy and Painting, an intangible cultural heritagein Dongying Economic Development Zone, has dedicated to this career for nearly 20 years and fostered unique styles after years of meticulous study and continuous innovation.
近看是字，远看是画，字画结合，流传至今。龙凤花鸟字画来源于生活，融合浓郁的地方特色，它是使用特制的工具书写，并加以象形图形装饰的一种美术字体，经过上千年的发展，该项技艺被人们一代又一代的传承了下来，经久不衰。
Looking like characters closely and paintings afar, it is the combination of calligraphy and paintingthat has been passed down to this day. Inspired by daily life, it also integrates local characteristics. It is a kind of artistic font written with special tools and decorated with pictograms, which has been passed down generation by generation and keeps flourishingtoday after thousands years of development.
“作画中，我使用了特制的多彩画笔，能够一气呵成、快速地绘出简洁的物形、螺线等代替文字的笔画。”赵珠华介绍，利用字里藏画的结构形式，巧妙地融字、画于一体，表达出吉祥喜庆等多种效果，同时又增强文字的意趣及视觉的吸引力。
“In creation, I often use special multi-color brushes to rapidly draw out concise simple objects, spirals and other strokesin replacement of characters.”As introduced by Zhao Zhuhua, characters and paintings are artistically integrated in a structure that hiding paintings in characters to present multiple effects such as auspiciousnessand joy, which not only enrich connotations of characters, but also create great visual attractiveness.
在赵珠华看来，龙凤花鸟字画是中国传统民间技艺，每一幅都有美好而深刻的寓意，花鸟、飞龙、祥云等中华传统元素融入字体，并融合东营本地特色，创作出具有鲜明风格的作品，守正创新，将华夏美学文明的创作转化、创新发展焕发出生生不息的活力。
According to Zhao Zhuhua, the Loong, Phoenix, Flower and Bird Themed Calligraphy and Paintingis a type of traditional Chinese folk skill, each of which bears good and profound meanings. Flowers, birds, flying loong, auspicious cloudsand other traditional Chinese elements are artistically integrated into characters with local characteristics of Dongying, giving birth to a piece of work with distinctive features.
