On September 13th, the Publicity Department of Mudan District Committee and Beicheng Sub-district Office organized overseas students to hold moon cakes and Mid-Autumn Festival activities, inviting foreign friends to taste Mid-Autumn moon cakes, weave Chinese knots together, and experience the charm of traditional Chinese festivals.
During the activity, Yao Yicang, an overseas cultural communication messenger from Peony District and a student from Sofia Music Institute, introduced to Bulgarian friends that the Mid-Autumn Festival is a festival for family reunion in China. It is a traditional Chinese custom to enjoy the moon together with friends and family, which means reunion and peace. After tasting the moon cake brought by Yao Yicang, everyone gave a thumbs-up."I have always been very interested in the Chinese special food. Today, I am very happy to taste the delicious mooncakes, and I also feel a strong festive atmosphere. China is really charming."Said Yao's friend Красимир.
In addition to tasting mooncakes, Yao also weaves Chinese knots with Bulgarian friends to experience the fun of handwork, and presents exquisite Chinese knots from Beicheng Street in Mudan District as a gift.
As an overseas cultural communication messenger in Mudan District, Yao Yicang is committed to promoting the wide spread of traditional Chinese culture."Before that, many of my foreign friends had no known about the Mid-Autumn Festival in China. Today's experience makes them appreciate the charm of traditional Chinese festivals. In the future, I will continue to work hard to spread the traditional Chinese festivals to more foreign friends and carry forward the Chinese culture."Yao said.
