Dingtao District in Russia held a Mid-Autumn Festival cultural experience activities

  At the event site, the Mid-Autumn Festival culture booth was set up, showing the Daoxiang Village moon cakes from Dingtao District, Heze City,Rabbit Plush Toy, Mid-Autumn Festival sachets pendant,Mid-Autumn Festival theme straw painting, rope weaving peony, Mid-Autumn Festival poetry and calligraphy, etc.Anna Nikolayevna, the Russian representative director of the Confucius Institute, gave a vivid lecture on the culture of the Mid-Autumn Festival, detailing its origins, the legend of Chang'e flying to the moon, and traditional customs such as eating mooncakes, admiring the moon, and viewing lanterns. She eloquently explained the rich cultural connotations of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, further stimulating emotional resonance among international friends.

  After the lecture, international friends participated in calligraphy, painting, and Mid-Autumn Festival-themed paper cutting, rope braiding, and straw painting handicraft experiences, under the careful guidance of Chinese students, a series of Mid-Autumn calligraphy, painting, and paper cutting works were created on paper, and ordinary straw was transformed into exquisite artworks such as "Jade Rabbit Good Fortune" and "Osmanthus Rabbit," which allowed international friends to feel the beautiful meanings of Mid-Autumn Festival such as "reunion and fulfillment," "happiness and health," and "harmony and coexistence" more directly and deeply, and received unanimous praise from international friends.

  During the blessing session, Chinese students would represent the Dingtao District Committee of the CPC Publicity Department in Heze City to present Chinese "Z-generation" friends' handwritten Mid-Autumn Festival greeting cards to the participating students, expressing friendship. International friends expressed their gratitude for receiving blessings from Heze and wrote down their wishes for Heze "Z-generation" friends on the greeting cards, pushing the event atmosphere to a high point.

  At the conclusion of the activity, the classmates sampled the "Rice Fragrant Village" mooncakes and peony flower cakes from Dingtao District, Heze City. Participants in the event expressed that the Mid-Autumn Festival cultural experience made them feel as if they were in a world filled with poetry and warmth. This experience not only allowed me to appreciate the diversity of Chinese culture but also enabled me to savor traditional Chinese cuisine. Additionally, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that peony flowers can be used to make mooncakes, which have a unique flavor that I thoroughly enjoyed.

  It is noted that, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, the Dingtao District jointly organized this event, using Mid-Autumn Festival culture as a medium to enhance interactions with friendly schools and deepen the friendship and understanding among "Z-generation" friends. This initiative aims to build new bridges for Chinese culture abroad and inspire global appreciation for Shandong's craftsmanship and Heze's Intangible Cultural Heritage.
