　　大寒，作为中国传统农历二十四节气之一，

　　As one of the 24 traditional Chinese solar terms,

　　是冬季的最后一个节气。

　　Greater Coldis the last solar term of winter.

　　通常在农历腊月十五前后。

　　It usually falls around the 15th day of the 12th lunar month.

　　由于大寒距离过年的时间很近，

　　因此人们常常在这段时间内忙碌奔波，

　　people are often busy during this period,

　　赶年集、买年货、写春联、

　　rushing to the year-end fairs, buying New Year's goods, writing Spring Festival couplets,

　　腌制各种腊肠腊肉，

　　pickling various kinds of sausages and cured meats,

　　或煎炸烹制鸡鸭鱼肉等各种年肴

　　or frying and cooking chickens, ducks, fish and other New Year dishes,

　　都是必不可少的。

　　大寒时节，天气寒冷至极，

　　全国大部分地区都处在一年当中最冷的阶段，

　　湖泊河流都结了厚厚的冰，

　　大风、低温、雨雪天气变得较为常见，

　　正如诗句“风鸣北户霜威重，云压南山雪意高。”形容的一样。
