Cross border collaboration empowers innovation in grassroots healthcare

　　In Boshan, Shandong, a cross-border medical collaboration is reshaping the county-level medical landscape. The deep cooperation between Shangyuangui, an authority in colorectal surgery in Japan, and the Boshan District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital not only enabled four late stage cancer patients to achieve "no major illness leaving the district", but also explored an innovative path for high-quality development of grassroots hospitals - by constructing an advanced model of "technology introduction knowledge transformation system reconstruction", transforming international high-quality resources into local sustainable development capabilities.

　　This practice has broken through the limitations of traditional assistance and established a systematic channel for resource sinking. In response to the technological bottlenecks in primary healthcare, the Boshan model innovatively constructs a three-level empowerment system: preoperative standardized MDT consultations are conducted by Chinese and Japanese experts to achieve diagnosis and treatment plans that are in line with international standards; Using a 4K live streaming system during surgery, millimeter level membrane dissection technology is transformed into visual teaching; Establish a quality closed-loop through the construction of a cross-border case database after surgery. This three-dimensional collaboration has led to a 71.4% increase in the annual surgical volume for colorectal cancer in hospitals, and more importantly, has trained over 40 local doctors who possess cutting-edge technology.
