Boxing: Energy saving power plants can reduce standard coal consumption by over 500000 tons annually

  As the first million kilowatt ultra supercritical project deployed by the National Energy Group within the province, Boxing Power Generation Co., Ltd. has received continuous good news in recent days. Two units have successfully completed a 168 hour full load test, and the company's total profit has exceeded 100 million yuan for the first time. Recently, the reporter visited this power plant that adopts the latest technology in the industry and saw a completely different scene from traditional coal-fired power plants.

  The "ultra supercritical secondary reheating" technology used in this project is industry-leading, and it is designed and constructed according to smart power plants, reducing the workload of production personnel and ensuring the economic and safety of the unit.

  In the northwest corner of the National Energy Boxing Power Generation Co., Ltd. plant area, three huge coal storage silos have replaced the coal yard of traditional thermal power plants. The three silos store a total of 150000 tons of coal, occupying only one-third of the coal yard area. This type of silo not only saves space, but also effectively reduces the loss of fuel calorific value during coal storage. The silo is connected to the unit building by a sealed conveyor belt, and all processes such as coal transportation and grinding are carried out in a sealed state, achieving the goal of "using coal without seeing coal".

  Here, generating one kilowatt hour of electricity only requires a coal consumption of no more than 264.33 grams, which reduces coal consumption by about 20 grams compared to traditional technology. Enterprises can reduce standard coal consumption by more than 500000 tons per year. This is not only an energy-saving power plant, but also an environmentally friendly power plant.

  Under full load operation, the concentration of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and smoke emissions from the power plant is only one-third to one-fifth of the national standard limits. The company's innovative application of generalized frequency conversion system and intelligent rotating equipment monitoring technology has achieved fully automated control of the unit's variable load process, reducing manual intervention while greatly improving operational safety.

  In the face of the new situation of energy and electricity, in accordance with the overall deployment of Shandong Company of National Energy Group, Boxing Power Generation Co., Ltd. has reduced the output of dual machine technology to 24.9% through lean management and technological innovation. By recognizing, adapting, and seeking change, it has effectively broken the "negative electricity price" dilemma, while actively competing for power generation, laying a solid foundation for profit breakthroughs. Through energy-saving and quality improvement, tapping potential and increasing efficiency, lean management, and cost control and efficiency creation, the company's cumulative total profit exceeded 100 million yuan for the first time from January to April.

  By the end of 2024, Shandong Power Grid will become the first provincial-level power grid in China to achieve a wind and solar installed capacity exceeding 100 million. However, wind and solar power generation are dependent on the weather and have shortcomings such as intermittency and volatility. In the current era of rapid development of new energy generation, the role of "controllable" traditional coal-fired power plants as "stabilizers" of the power grid is more prominent.
