　　Raindrop glaze originated in the late Tang and early Song dynasties. The black glaze surface is regularly covered with patterns of large and small water droplets or oil droplets, like raindrops in the sky and stars in the universe, very beautiful and stunning. Recently, Japanese tourists Aiko and Japanese dancer Megumi visited the Raindrop Glaze Museum to enjoy this artistic feast created by Raindrop Glaze works.

　　Raindrop glaze, also known as "oil drop glaze", was developed and restored by Boshan black pottery artists in Zibo in 1936. It was not until 1959 that the technical difficulties were overcome. The raindrop glaze ceramic works fired were not only beautiful, but also far superior in quality to those of the Song Dynasty. They were selected as national gift porcelain and exported to Hong Kong, Japan, and the United States.

　　Due to the difficulty of production and the rarity of the finished product, raindrop glaze was a very precious ceramic in ancient times, which could only be possessed by the royal family or high-ranking officials. In the Song Dynasty, Japanese people brought raindrop glaze back and regarded it as a "sacred object" and treasure, and those that survived became Japanese national treasure level ceramics. The complete raindrop glaze ceramics that can be passed down from ancient times in China are also very rare.

　　After the visit, Japanese dancer Megumi Miyata said that it was an incredible and unforgettable experience. Raindrop glaze is not only about inheritance, but also about exploration. It is a famous brand of Boshan pottery, with distinctive and impressive works.

　　The technical characteristics of raindrop glaze lie in the selection of glaze application and the control of kiln temperature, which require not only experience but also continuous research and exploration. According to Zhou Zuyi, the excavation and exploration of raindrop glaze pottery have just begun. With continuous exploration, raindrop glaze will become more and more refined and popular among more and more people.
