Hu Village

Six kilometers southeast of Gaoqing County, Hu Village stands like a serene pearl. In the northwest corner of the village lies the tomb of Hu Hala from the Yuan Dynasty. The tomb's owner, originally named Hu Dafeng, was a paragon of physicians celebrated throughout the region.

Legend has it that he once cured the princess of a lingering illness with his extraordinary medical skills. Delighted by this, the emperor bestowed upon him the rare honor of a royal burial. Today, the stone sheep and stone statues of military officers remaining in the village, though weathered by time and mostly incomplete, still allow glimpses of their former splendor through their mottled textures: the curved lines of the stone sheep hold the gentle touch of carving, and the patterns on the officers' armor embody a solemn dignity. These silent stone figures, like messengers of time, softly tell the story of the physician's benevolent heart and that imperial glory through the passage of years.
