The 20th China Forest Products Expo (CFPE) opened from September 19 to 21 in Zhuangzhai Town, Cao County, Heze City, Shandong Province, attracting 778 exhibitors and more than 20,000 buyers. Among them were over 40 overseas purchasers from 14 countries including the United States, Germany, and Pakistan, who gathered at the expo to explore the appeal of green wood products and seek international cooperation opportunities.
Baharat Lal, a buyer from Pakistan, expressed his excitement: “I am truly thrilled to be here. The exhibition has shown me a wide variety of wood products and allowed me to learn about different companies’ production and sales approaches. It has been a very rewarding experience, and I will definitely come again.”
The event served as a bridge linking local suppliers to the global market. Jin Xudong, who recently moved to Cao County for work, was seen negotiating fluently in Japanese with international clients. As a key member of a local pet wooden furniture export team, he shared, “Just this morning, we’ve received several inquiries from merchants on the Amazon platform. The expo provides a direct channel to the global market.”
First-time participant Jiang Liangdong, CEO of Yuncheng Xin’ao Wood Industry Co., Ltd., already saw promising results. “In just half a day, we’ve secured several意向 orders and collected many new contacts. It’s amazing that our products can reach international supply chains through the expo—an unprecedented opportunity for SMEs like us,” he said.
Companies such as Shandong Heze Maosheng Wood Industry Co., Ltd. have become regular attendees. “Through previous expos, we’ve entered markets in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and now we ship containers overseas almost daily. We’re confident this year’s event will bring new partners,” said Zhang Guoliang, the company’s Deputy General Manager.
Cao County, the host area, has transformed from a traditional paulownia processing base into a billion-yuan industrial cluster producing wood-based panels, crafts, furniture, and more. Recently, it has also branched into new segments such as eco-friendly boards and pet furniture, showing how innovation is driving the industry forward.
A representative from the CFPE industrial committee emphasized, “We will continue to leverage forestry resources, promote technological innovation, and support full-chain transformation and digitalization to foster high-quality growth in the forestry industry.”
