On December 6, exciting news arrived from Munich, Germany: the Multi-energy Complementary Innovation Demonstration Park project in Zichuan District was honored with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Innovation Award.

A total of 280 projects from 35 countries applied for this award, with five ultimately shortlisted and two winning. The Multi-energy Complementary Innovation Demonstration Park project from Zichuan District was one of the recipients. Previously, the project had already garnered widespread international attention and high recognition for its case study on energy, industrial, and transportation system transformation at the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém, Brazil.

As an integrated "energy + industry" complex spanning over 1,000 acres, the park focuses on four core innovations: Utilizing abandoned mine resources to construct China’s first pit-type pumped storage power station, achieving resource recycling. Building an 11.3 MW agricultural-photovoltaic complementary base, generating up to 13 million kWh of electricity annually. Combined with the "green electricity direct connection" policy, it strongly supports corporate transformation.Establishing a 13,000-square-meter smart flower greenhouse, promoting the integration of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries and achieving an annual output value of 16 million yuan.Simultaneously advancing the comprehensive utilization of mine water resources and the ecological restoration of 600 acres of abandoned mining land, saving over one million yuan in mine management costs annually.
