China’s Dong people celebrate New Year

　　People of the Dong ethnic group participated in the Dong New Year celebrations on Saturday in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture southwest China's Guizhou Province.

　　During the annual festival, people gather together, wearing traditional attire to greet relatives and friends.

　　People also take part in various activities such as parades, singing and dancing, and making Ciba, a traditional glutinous rice cake dyed with red food coloring.

　　Celebrated on Nov. 1-3 in the lunar calendar, the traditional New Year of the Dong ethnic group was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2011.
