The Xiong'an-Shangqiu high-speed railway (HSR) entered the track-laying stage on Sept 1. The railway is a crucial part of China's high-speed rail network, which constitutes the Beijing-Hong Kong (Taipei) corridor.

The total length of railway is 552 kilometers, with a design speed of 350 km per hour. It spans across Hebei, Shandong, and Henan provinces. The track-laying started simultaneously from bases in Hebei and Shandong.

The railway will enhance the regional transportation network and boost economic development along the route.
